To mitigate the problem of multiple banking in Nepalese microfinance sector thereby supporting the merger and acquisition policy of Nepal Rastra Bank (the central bank of Nepal), Nerude Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, having its central office in Biratnagar Morang and Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, having its central office in Banepa Kavre have signed an agreement to merge each-other on 11th Poush 2079 BS. The both institutions were licensed from NRB to operate at national level as class 'D' financial institution under Bank and Financial Institutions Act 2073. Later both institutions called special General Meeting of their Shareholders to pass the resolutions about merger on 15th Baisakh 2080 BS, and applied to NRB to get final approval for merger; thereby received final letter of approval for merger on 3rd Kartik 2080 BS and started joint operation on 30th Falgun 2080 BS under the name Nerude Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMLBSL) as national level class 'D' financial institution with its Central Office at Banepa Municipality-8, Kavrepalanchok. Earlier, Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha had acquired Cweda Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha on 21st Ashad 2077 BS, Nagbeli Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd on 7th Bhadra 2077 BS and Buddha Jyoti Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd on 15th Bhadra 2078 BS. Nerude Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd is running its business as compositions of five different microfinance institutions in the country.
